How to get more specific artifacts Posted: 17 Aug 2021 06:49 AM PDT *Besides savescumming before the artifact finishes* Enable as many dwarves as you can with the category of artifact that you desire: For example have most of your populace have weaponsmithing enabled This greatly increases the chance of the next dwarf who gets hit by a mood picking that labor to use for a craft, and I built an entire fortress with artifact weapons this way I also built a trade fort composed entirely of crafts. Thanks to the fact that every dwarf had a craft enabled for maximum happiness thus resulting in me only having a couple of military artifacts Also if you feel morbid: If a dwarf fails to create an artifact(of course he will go berserk or depressed) then a mood will still show up again and keep doing so until a successful one is created. So you could just keep killing your craftsdwarfs until one smith gets picked or whatever you want. More Well Known: Go to your stocks and forbid specific items in order to hone in your artifact maker to use specific materials. I always require my metal artifacts to be gold, iron, steel or candy personally And then save scumming. Which is scumming. Save before the artifact is done and keep ending the program every time it's finished until its the type of product you want. I don't like doing it, because the appeal of the game is randomness but it's there. [link] [comments]
What are some of the greatest mysteries you've come across while playing? Posted: 16 Aug 2021 07:50 PM PDT Video game mysteries are something I really enjoy. They're very common in open world games like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout universes. Dwarf Fortress seems like it would be full of them, but require more digging and more attention to detail tho uncover. So what kind of crazy mysteries have you all come across? [link] [comments]
