Posted: 20 Sep 2020 07:52 PM PDT An average farmer can produce food for 6.5 people on 1 tile without fertilizing, whereas in the Middle Ages it took at least 2 acres of arable land to feed one person, so one tile in DF is equal to at least 5 hectares. Thus, the area of the medium-sized world is exactly equal to the area of the Earth. Calculation: " each of which consumes 7 urists of food and drink per dwarf per season" " each planted tile will yield a stack of 1-9 plants each harvest cycle " "5 plants per harvest (mid-level farmer with fertilization or legendary farmer without fertilization) " -》about 3 plants per tile for mid-level farmer without fertilization * Harvest Per Tile Per Year of most of the plants is 12 * Brewing always quintuples stack sizes =3*5*12=180 180/(7*4)= 6.42857142857≈6.5 the area of one tile: 2acre*6.42857142857= 52031.0111m2>5hectares=0.05km2 the area of the medium-sized world: 129*129*16*16*48*48*0.0520310111= 510697963.614 km2 And the surface area of earth is 510072000 km2 Toady One must have done some math. It tells us why medium-sized worlds are 129*129 instead of 128*128 or 100*100, why a world tile has 48*48 local tiles instead of 32*32 or 50*50. [link] [comments] | ||
