Try to commission a statue of our manager and the game insists that she is a wombat Posted: 03 Jun 2020 07:41 AM PDT Been manager since we started, one of the only dwarves to have children and NOT subsequently orphan those kids by dying. Done great work because I use my managers a lot. Let's honor her! Commission the statue find her name and it insists that she is a wombat. A wombat born of wombats. Do you think she'd be offended if we put a giant steel statue of a wombat in her office that was named after her? [link] [comments]
Getting really frustrated with squad equipment Posted: 03 Jun 2020 05:03 AM PDT TL:DR; Dorfs seem to refuse picking up their assigned items. A few ingame years ago (probably like 10 orso years), I noticed that some of my military dorfs were running around half naked. I checked the uniforms I had assigned them, there were plenty of items they could pick from, they also all claimed an item (the green sqrt you see to the right of the item in the equipment menu). The uniforms were set to 'replace clothing' so if they didn't pick up, say, grieves, they will run around with their naked ass. But, I hadn't set it to exact matches, and the armor was in bins which can cause issues. So fine, I put it all to exact matches, make a quantum stockpile so there is no bin-related issues and see if that fixes it. After all the bins had been emptied, I decided to re-issue their uniforms. This prompted them to re-decide what to wear, drop whatever they were wearing and go claim new stuff. This seemed to work, at first. Forcing them to decide again what they wanted to wear seemingly did the trick. Except a while later, I noticed they had trown off some of their stuff, and where running around half naked again. Now, I know that a dorf will (try to) pick up new armor if a better version is available. They'd ditch their superior greaves for a masterwork if they can. I also noticed that when I had re-issued the same uniform to a squad, that squad would usually fix itself, but other squads would pick up the better versions if possible, and end up half-naked. Fixing them would then cause the previous to do the same. I suspect that the same piece of armor can be claimed by multiple dorfs. Resulting in only one actually wearing the piece and the rest go half naked. It also doesn't help that I have over a dozen squads, it takes a lot of effort to try and fix 90% of the squads, which I managed to do so every now again, but a few ingame months later, they drop their equipment again, which is probably because some new piece of armor got made and they all claim it or something (they are set to wear uniform when inactive, so that's not it) My next attempt is going to make sure I only have masterwork items they can pick from. That way, they shouldn't all rush when something better becomes available. But we'll see if that's actually helps. The final option would probably be to select what they wear manually, assigning specific items as opposed to "candy breastplate", but with over a dozen squads... I'm not looking forward to that. Does anybody have other options I could try? [link] [comments]
