    Ask about anything related to Dwarf Fortress - including the game, utilities, bugs, problems you're having, mods, etc. You will get fast and friendly responses in this thread.

    Read the sidebar before posting! It has information on a range of game packages for new players, and links to all the best tutorials and quick-start guides. If you have read it and that hasn't helped, mention that!

    You should also take five minutes to search the wiki - if tutorials or the quickstart guide can't help, it usually has the information you're after. You can find the previous questions thread here.

    The tilesets consists of 3 types, Root (square), Bole (text) and Branch (script). Root and Bole also have 3 weights.

    After a painstakingly long time, I was finally able to subdue my vampire in a room, although a random spinner and his cat accidentally got locked in there as well, and I just decided to leave them there. I made sure to seal a statue in, too, so that she had something to look at, and in a very odd coincidence, the statue ended up being of her surrounded by roaches, which she detests. I laughed pretty hard at that shbhdsfhf

    The vampire had incredibly high mining stats, so I made her make the room bigger and smooth and subsequently engrave the walls with whatever she wanted, although I changed her preferences to goth in dfhack before letting her engrave anything to see if that would make her choose any interesting subject material, and she ended up with literally one engraving of a pile of corpses, the rest were all either common objects, figures, symbols, or historical events.

    My dwarf put an image of the first king ascending to his rank right next to the time a fortress cat got smashed to death by my drawbridge when I was first testing it out.
