Ask about anything related to Dwarf Fortress - including the game, utilities, bugs, problems you're having, mods, etc. You will get fast and friendly responses in this thread.

Read the sidebar before posting! It has information on a range of game packages for new players, and links to all the best tutorials and quick-start guides. If you have read it and that hasn't helped, mention that!

You should also take five minutes to search the wiki - if tutorials or the quickstart guide can't help, it usually has the information you're after. You can find the previous questions thread here.

Best way to visualize your dwarves

I have started a new big world which I intend to use for a big story project that I might release someday. It could benefit greatly from visual pictures of dwarves, but the problem is - I can't draw or use advanced modeling programs such as blender. I do know about Hero Forge, but sadly there's no option to color the models yet and there's no 2.0 version release date yet.

Has anyone tried to visualize their fort citizens by using some third party programs? If so, any recommendations?

Hello Reddit!

I've been a longtime reader (lurker?) here, this is my first actual post on reddit ever (awww) Account created for the shameless and almost Elf-like act of self-promotion.

So anyway I'm giving this game streaming lark a go after getting over a few bumps in the road, and I thought DF is a good way to start, so you're welcome one and all to drop by and see a newbie streamer fail horribly while trying to remember stuff I learned about DF like 10 years ago... I'm aiming to eventually recreate some of the glorious atrocities I've read about in the ancient kitten leather-bound codexes such as doggo daycare, skinless wonders, clown checkers, goblin golf, etc ...

For now though, everybeard is welcome. Streams are slowly improving each time (I'm only on my 3rd) so pop by some time we have free ☼booze☼ and tavern dancers

I'm on the path to affiliate so if you don't think the stream is a complete pile of goblinite, consider following <3
