Ask about anything related to Dwarf Fortress - including the game, utilities, bugs, problems you're having, mods, etc. You will get fast and friendly responses in this thread.

Read the sidebar before posting! It has information on a range of game packages for new players, and links to all the best tutorials and quick-start guides. If you have read it and that hasn't helped, mention that!

You should also take five minutes to search the wiki - if tutorials or the quickstart guide can't help, it usually has the information you're after. You can find the previous questions thread here.

If you can answer questions, please sort by new and lend a hand - linking to a helpful resource (eg wiki page) is fine.

There seems to be a common belief they're banned here, but they are in fact officially welcomed in our rules. We do ask they follow reddit and subreddit rules, of course.

We're well aware that stream announcements are banned on many larger gaming subreddits, and that day may come for us as well, but until then feel free to stop reporting them as spam and downvoting them into oblivion.

Many people do enjoy them, and very often people will come into the chat of a stream I'm watching and credit the subreddit announcement.

I'm developing something for dwarf fortress, something secret yet anticipated, I'm thinking about making a linux version of it, how many of you use linux? How many of you use linux and don't have windows? What do you think is the percentage of linuxers here? DF us a game of the type of people who use linux so I'm feel like there would be a lot
