    What weapons do you guys usually outfit your squads with. I usually go for axes for my main offensive squads, they seem to be the most dwarfey for me (plus they're pretty good if they're made out of steel).

    Help! My legendary weaponsmith is a vampire!

    I'm pretty sure he is the bastard that has drained 5 of my dwarves so far and now he's just chillin like nothing's going on. Is there any way to stop him from being a cunt to the others, like striking a deal with him to allow him to drain the animals instead of the dwarves, or to only drain the visitors, since I don't wanna kill him?

    First fortress a couple questions

    As stated it's my first time playing and I had a some questions.

    1) after about three years in game play (I'm assuming it's 3 since the Caravan came thrice and I've had about 3 immigrant waves), I still haven't encountered any enemies of any kind. Normal?

    2) how do you determine what weapon would be best. Ie I have the option to build wood or bone crossbows.

    3) I've noticed in some people's videos they've capped the in fortress population. How do you do that? It's already getting tough for me to manage what's going on for a first run.

    New player excited to get into the game with a question about linux

    I have the vanilla D-F installed in linux mint 20 but I want to be able to use Dwarf therapist ect. and I'm having trouble getting LNB working. Does anyone know of a guide, or can give me a hand, Thx.

    LNP on linux and the custom terminal command

    Anybody else had issues with the custom command? I've tried it with two different terminal emulators, well three really, but one didn't work and failed the test. The other two however did not fail the test, yet I'm still not managing to start the game, clicking "Play Dwarf Fortress!" causes a terminal emulator to quickly flash in front of me for just a fraction of a second, then nothing else happens.

    If this makes any difference I installed it through Lutris, because I'm lazy and I like to have all my launchers there when it comes to games.
