    If you read the title you know that this Thursday June 11th at 3pm Pacific a ToadyOne will be joining me for an interview on my live stream. From our back and fourth its looking like it'll be roughly an hour. First half I'm preparing some questions and the second half we'll be talking with chat and responding to questions. If you have anything specific that you'd like to know hit me with them in this thread and I'll jot them down and compile a list.

    Human adventurer joins my fortress to kill monsters. This is what happens:

    I ran into a weird situation with a human explorer. Some human dude came to my fortress said he wanted to come fight monsters. I grant his petition because I've had a few problems with troglodytes and cave crocodiles from the caverns.

    He's exploring the deep mines in my fort and comes across a troglodyte. Essentially a humanoid monster. He starts the fight, ends up beating him over the head with this book he brought.

    The book is called "Beyond Sources" and is a book written by some far off author about needing to check the sources of information before you believe it.

    So he is beating this monster over the head repeatadly with this book. The monster passes out but he keeps beating, not doing any real damage. Just bangin' away. He gets so exhausted he passes out as well. So we've got a human and a monster just passed out in my mines.

    Eventually he wakes up, keeps banging it on the head with a book and finished the job by curb stomping the monster.

    A couple of days later one of my miners finds him passed out in the caves again, this time his hand is all mangled beyond recognition. Turns out the monsters got sick of being hit with the book....

    I like using the default UI, ASCII graphics, etc. I just unzip the file from the bay 12 website and play. The only time I use Dwarf Therapist is after a big migrant wave, and only about a third of the time. Keyboard only.

    Does anyone else like this, or do most of you play with all the hacks/mods/tilesets?

    I'm not trying to be all high and mighty, I just see a lot of posts talking about tilesets or DF Hack, I wonder if there is anyone else out there just playin' the game like me.
