    Ask about anything related to Dwarf Fortress - including the game, utilities, bugs, problems you're having, mods, etc. You will get fast and friendly responses in this thread.

    Read the sidebar before posting! It has information on a range of game packages for new players, and links to all the best tutorials and quick-start guides. If you have read it and that hasn't helped, mention that!

    You should also take five minutes to search the wiki - if tutorials or the quickstart guide can't help, it usually has the information you're after. You can find the previous questions thread here.

    Dwarves Die from Vomiting after Battle, Apparently

    Just lost one of my better Axe Lords in mopping up after a siege. (Traps/Archers got all but about six of the invaders.) But the thing is he made it through the battle with a few scrapes, steel armor doing the trick. Then well after the siege is over, civies un-burrowed, and cleanup begins he just falls over dead from suffocation?

    So I downloaded DF today and after so fiddling with my system preferences and terminal I finally got it to work. but of course the graphics and UI are bad. so now I've downloaded Macnewbie but I don't know what to do. I've tried doing the same thing as before but it's not letting me type into the terminal. How do you get MacNewbie to work?
