    Ask about anything related to Dwarf Fortress - including the game, utilities, bugs, problems you're having, mods, etc. You will get fast and friendly responses in this thread.

    Read the sidebar before posting! It has information on a range of game packages for new players, and links to all the best tutorials and quick-start guides. If you have read it and that hasn't helped, mention that!

    You should also take five minutes to search the wiki - if tutorials or the quickstart guide can't help, it usually has the information you're after. You can find the previous questions thread here.

    help im really knew to the game and i tabbed off it for a minute and then all my dwarves ran away to a different place and now theyre hiding behind this

    Some dwarf killed a elf turned that elf into a table. He then proceeded to decorate it with not one but 4 different types of wood. One of the most dwarven things I've seen!

    Does anyone have some saves of late-stage fortresses? looking to see how performance is in various embark sizes

    Good afternoon! I was wondering if anyone had a save to share of a fortress in maybe a 2x2, 2x3, 3x3, or 4x4 size in the later stages of a fortress. I'm trying to figure out what kind of performance I can expect with various embark sizes so I can pick the largest one that doesn't chug.

    If there's a better way to test this, please let me know.

    Adventurer mode

    Hello Dwarf chums.

    I've been playing a lot of DF lately, I've been trying to get into Adventurer mode, but it just doesn't seem to be very eventful?

    I imagine it's because time in Worldgen passes so quickly that it seems like a lot is happening at one time, and because of this, you have to be in the right place at the right time in Adventure mode because it's so much slower.

    Despite this, in towns, nothing seems to happen at all, locals just sit in the same rooms with the same dwarfs talking about nothing, then don't seem to leave to eat, sleep or anything, they don't seem to take care of any of their needs.

    Has anyone seen anything interesting play out in adventurer mode? I really want to enjoy it, but I just seem to be missing something.
