My fortress invented its own musical form that is *really* detailed. Most visiting musicians use far simpler forms so I guess I'm proud

DevLog 19 March 2021: "If you are placing bedrooms, dining halls, offices, or tombs, you can now just drag a rectangle over an area with a bunch of enclosed potential rooms of that kind and have them all made at the same time."

DFhack script - tagpets.lua - nicknaming livestocks with their attributes

I just finished making this script to help me with my eugenics experiment.

It's best used with DFhack's "sort-units name" and "search" plugin

It places a nickname on all or specific livestocks based on their attributes in order to make it easier for me to search for desired targets in the "search" ui, like looking for the female turkey with the best attributes and restraining them to a rope next to a nestbox, designating the weakest ones for caging, or by looking through the animals interface and setting the undesired ones for butchering or gelding. The example here is for turkeys.

"sort-units name" is needed to be able sort these lists

Here's the link to the lua script and more instruction https://github.com/FierReboro/tagpets

    example usage:

    type

tagpets 170 race ids str size age

    --> Enter

result on a specific dog's nickname.

    "dogM 170M 28St/50% 101cu 4/12y"

dogM -- dog, male (F for female)

170M -- creature number for dogs, male

28St -- maximum attainable physical attribute(strength in this example): 2800 divided by 100

/50%-- percentage of current attribute with respect to maximum: 50%

    101cu -- body size modifuer

4/12y-- remaining years until a unit becomes old: 4 years (Formatted to 3 characters, the other 2 characters are spaces so it can be properly sorted on the animals interface. For instance, between 4, 110, and 63, 110 is the largest, and 63 is the second, but if sorted without the spaces, the result becomes 63 -> 4 -> 110

How much would you be willing to pay for the steam version ?

Myself, would put a max of 50$ on it, but this coming from someone who plays the game for more then 7 years. I think tarn and his brother deserve it after all the great stuff they have given. I think for people new to the game 50 would be pretty steep though. But I would still recommend it to them for 50. Hihi
