    Ask about anything related to Dwarf Fortress - including the game, utilities, bugs, problems you're having, mods, etc. You will get fast and friendly responses in this thread.

    Playing since 2014, decided it's finally time to figure out Manager.

    So I have a repeating task to brew drinks if we fall below 60 units. That seems to work fine, it checks once a month, and we're not falling below 35-40 drinks consistently.

    So I also added jobs to produce Doors, Grates, Floodgates, etc,. if we fall below 5 units.

    The problem I'm having is I have no way to distinguish between built doors, and doors in a stockpile. Same for mechanisms, floodgates, and any other furniture or materials I want to get into a structure.

    Is there something I'm not seeing here that fixes this? Because I like the idea of having a storage of ready made furniture and materials to immediately make a proper home when I need one.

    To reiterate, if I tell it to produce doors until we have 5 doors, it never fires. It never fires because I already have 5 doors built already. But I want to have 5 doors in stockpile at all times to build with.

    Newbie here. Searching for help

    Hey, guys. So, I'm very interested in the game and its mechanics but I can't fully understand it. I enter the game, create a world and I don't have any idea how to start anything. Do you guys know where I could find some guides or tips to get started?

    Creating a Custom Creature

    I've been playing for quite a while now and I also write on the side as a little side project. However, recently I've been wanting to add a custom creature into the game called a Colossal, based around Eox from the Legend of Zelda series. I haven't been able to figure out much, even watching the tutorials on Youtube and even looking through the wiki. Will anyone be willing to help?
