My glacial fortress is a blade piercing the heavens. A tower of marble, standing defiant and resolute in the cold biting winds of the far north. Its roots dug deep through ice and through stone, with no trees and no plantlife and still my dwarves persevere. Traders tighten their furs and hunch over against the howling blizzards, praying that their oxen don't give out before they reach my stronghold; for the gifts we bear, the trinkets we've ripped from the earth itself and shaped to our will, make the journey worth it every single time. Entertainers flock to us after hearing of the warm taverns that serve any alcohol at any time, warming the frozen visitor; the hallowed temples that give any resident or visitor a place to renew their faith in almost every deity imaginable; libraries full of vast works (which is, at this point, 4 scrolls because I only just learned that the paper industry exists and I'm going to figure it out tomorrow). And brave monster slayers wrapped in steel and armed with blades that have tasted the blood of a thousand kills come to use, hearing rumours of all the beasties we've unearthed in the underdark. Though the outside of our fort is cold as ice, within it is heated by the flames of a dozen magma furnaces.

It is also PLASTERED in vomit. Everywhere. It's EVERYWHERE. These people are visiting my fort hoping for riches and respite, and the very first thing they see are about half a dozen bearded midgets puking their guts out as they try to drag half a decomposing horse's corpse out of the front gates and into the garbage zone.

What a magical game this is.

Potential were-dwarves

I recently had a were-lizard attack my fortress at a really bad time and he bit 5 dwarves who had attacked him (and killed him even without weapons) so now i have 5 potentially were beasts and i don't know what to do
