☼Bi-weekly DF Questions Thread☼ Posted: 02 Apr 2020 05:07 PM PDT Ask about anything related to Dwarf Fortress - including the game, utilities, bugs, problems you're having, mods, etc. You will get fast and friendly responses in this thread. Read the sidebar before posting! It has information on a range of game packages for new players, and links to all the best tutorials and quick-start guides. If you have read it and that hasn't helped, mention that! You should also take five minutes to search the wiki - if tutorials or the quickstart guide can't help, it usually has the information you're after. You can find the previous questions thread here. If you can answer questions, please sort by new and lend a hand - linking to a helpful resource (eg wiki page) is fine. [link] [comments]

The End of Monsters and Adventures Posted: 03 Apr 2020 10:49 AM PDT I've played this world through multiple forts and adventurers and seen many decades pass, and I didn't realize that an untold age came to an end. When I started this world was full of adventurers and monster slayers and artists traveling all over, but almost all of them were extremely old and at the end of their lives. I tell you it's amazing seeing a 90 year old human dancing amongst an undead horde slaying one after the next or a 70 year old monster slayer jumping off a cliff to kill a forgotten beast. We had many cool stories including one epic last stand where monster slayers and heroes fought next to captured forgotten beasts against thousands of goblins. but for the most part the age adventurers and monsters just...stopped. All the monsters died one way or another, and the adventurers all either went home to retire or stayed at the forts to enjoy their twilight years. They've all passed away into old age. I waited decades expecting a new crop of all of them to wander the world doing new cool things, but none have appeared. NONE. This last generation passed away and that has been it. No more mysteries or treasures to find. Mega beasts to slay or lost forts to explore. Its done We've entered an age where only armies wander the world instead, and it's honestly kind of sad. It's like when your D&D group permanently breaks up [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Apr 2020 02:23 PM PDT I was thinking of a way to improve Dwarf mood would be to contaminate a wells drinking water with some type of alcohol I was wondering if anyone had done something similar and it f it worked my 2 current ideas are to use a suspended platform to drop a barrel in or use a cart to launch it in since the barrel needs to break to spill it's contents if I get no info on this I will edit this post later with the results of my experiment [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Apr 2020 11:53 PM PDT Hey folks! A few days ago, in a post here, was a little conversation about Keybindings. Maybe we can collect a few (un-)useful Keybindings here, with are not shown or hidden in the menu. I will start right away: 1. (If DFHACK enabled) u - l (<- little L) kinda Dwarftherapist ingame with labors and stressoverview 2. q on a lever, than ctrl - n (if ctrl - n is the binding to name the lever, use shift - n) to see, to what the lever is connected 3. Alt - m to see a overview of all the stuff your dwarfes like and hate (stonetypes, animals etc) [link] [comments] |
