The great Cat-Crundle War of 157 Posted: 05 Jul 2021 07:24 AM PDT For some reason in the fort of Tradedspirit as the dwarves fight wars against three goblin civilizations and a dwarven civilization The local cats seem to be engaged in their own war They breed without restraint and filter into the local cavern layers which are filled mostly with crundles they fight across the map. Cats ambushing crundles and crundles jumping out of the mushroom trees onto cats Every few weeks dwarven peasants pull the tiny corpses out of the caves and throw them into the magma and they're all scratching their heads and asking "Why?" We sought an answer to this question and our captain of the guard interrogated one of the local cats who was nicknamed "Gildedcrown" by the dwarves for his crundle kills. Sadly the interview revealed now new pertinent information as the cat merely meowed in response or adorably rubbed its leg on the captain of the guard Next a crundle was involved but it merely shrieked and tried to steal a bracelet off the table before the captain killed it and threw it into the magma Scholars will debate for many years the reason for this "shadow war" happening amidst these greater surface wars. Perhaps the true masterminds of the war between us "sapients" are these tiny overlords fighting below? [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Jul 2021 07:30 AM PDT So I started playing this game yesterday, and all three fortresses of mine end with my dwarves just dropping dead. My guys start digging into the mountain and then they start dying one by one, is this because I neglected to feed them or something? I do have a kitchen set up and the stockpile has food there. I'm so lost [link] [comments]
Testing the waters with some Dwarf Fortress writing. Posted: 04 Jul 2021 06:42 PM PDT I asked on here three weeks ago about dwarf fortress stories, and I think just watching Kruggsmash is my favorite. I have been playing a ton of DF in the last month, experimenting, trouble shooting, and failing many many times. This latest time I died to a cascade of Were-Giraffe bites. I have decided to commemorate this amazing loss with my own retelling of the events from the perspective of a visitor who was staying in our tavern. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1spzyCg4ihlsic5rQD4fDEFtDBiKI6lvHTggmHik0eMk/edit?usp=sharing If you enjoy this, then perhaps I need to start writing more about Dwarf Fortress. It is possible to play as a historical figure in Adventure mode Posted: 05 Jul 2021 10:06 AM PDT Did you know that it is possible to play as a historical figure in adventure mode by using the Df Hack unretire-anyone command at the character race selection screen and selecting Specific Person as race. Posted: 05 Jul 2021 05:58 AM PDT I was playing orcs in the desert biome using the masterwork mod. Already dug through a few z layers of sand but can't get through shale. Does anyone else have this problem? [link] [comments] |
