Problems surviving undead sieges Posted: 18 Feb 2020 07:54 AM PST Hello fellow bearded bastards. I need some advice, because the last 3 of my first have does due to a necromancer attack. I've tried traps and militia but they always overwhelm me. The problem is they show up within the first couple of years, and I just dont seem to have the resources to really beef up defences yet. A fixed version of that 125 bedroom macro Posted: 17 Feb 2020 03:45 PM PST I'm not sure if this had already been done yet so I went ahead and recorded a new version of the 125 bedroom design by /u/DontReallyCareThanks without the missing doorways. There are some slight stylistic changes around the diagonal hallways to make them more symmetric (in my view, anyway), but is otherwise the same layout. Shoutout to /u/radgh as well for the seminal post. To use the macro, you'll need to download the file (or clone the whole repo if you like) and place it in the data/init/macros folder of your Dwarf Fortress install. If the "macros" folder doesn't exist, create it and place the .mak file there. In your fort, make a 3x3 stairwell, d-d to designate digging, and place the cursor on the top right square of the stairwell. Use Ctrl-l (control + lowercase L) to bring up the list of macros, and Enter to activate it. Finally, Ctrl-p will play the macro in its entirety. Do not minimize or click out of Dwarf Fortress, as this will cause the macro to stop playing.
